Buy an Arachnid Cricket Pro 800 Review

Arachnid Cricket Pro 800 Review

One day, I got bored with some games I loved to play so much and decided to find a new hobby/game. I got so many suggestions but there was this particular one that sparked my interest – Arachnid Cricket Pro 800. It is an Electronic Dartboard that has segments tagged “NylonTough”.

The dartboard was different from every other type I ever saw or played because it was electronic and it had several unique features also. In fact, one could see how amazing it looks from pictures and the durability is just something that can’t be avoided.

Here are some things I learnt about Arachnid Cricket Pro 800;

Arachnid Cricket Pro 800 Review

Players

To play the game, you need a maximum of 8 players and a minimum of 1. The fun of this game lies when you have more people playing it and placing bets on wins. On several occasions, I called a couple of friends over and I was glad I won them all!

Games

Another exciting thing about the product is that it has 40 games with about 179 variations. This sounds awesome, doesn’t it? Out of these 40 games, there are 7 fun and easy-to-play cricket games.

Board Features

On the board features aspect, there are many things to pick and talk about.

Accessories

  • There are 6 soft tip darts to play with
  • Extra darts just in case
  • AC Adapter to connect to a power source
  • Mounting hardware to fix the product in position
  • An operating manual as a guide
  • Rules and instructions to the 40 games on the product

Display

  • 4 players score Jumbo X/O Cricket Display
  • An indicator showing a current player
  • Easy selection of game with a large scrolling display
  • LED lights for light and easy view

Board

  • With the aid of micro thin segment dividers, a reduced bounce-out is enabled
  • Scoring potential is always high and topnotch which is made possible by the square-holed darts
  • Improved durability via NylonTough segments
  • Responsive sensors that enhance accuracy

Game Features

Also, on the game features, there are 4 basic things that makes the whole product as exciting as it is for me.

  1. For every game, there is a track and an outstanding evaluation into average points which is recorded per darts (PPD). This point only comes up after each player’s round and there are also metric calculations as side features.
  2. Also, there is this particular feature that takes the whole fun to another level. This is what I really enjoy most about the game when we play in multiples. A 3 Level Heckler feature that harasses or applauds (as the case may be) a player for a throw. Although, it can be turned off if found annoying but it gets more fun if you play in twos or threes.
  3. As mentioned above as one of the impressive features, a micro thin segment divider that reduces bounce-outs and improves a player’s performance.
  4. Also, a guaranteed durability and outstanding playability with the presence of NylonTough Segments.

Therefore, what more do you need from a game than all these? You now have a game that houses several other games (about 40 of them) to pick from. The playability and durability is topnotch and you can play with a maximum of 8 people. In fact, there are extra accessories for you which will reduce the cost of maintenance effectively.

However, the price for Arachnid Cricket Pro 800 looks quite much, but judging by the features and other things like durability, then it is a good value for money. I have used it for quite some time now and I don’t think I would be stopping any time soon. You also should buy an Arachnid Cricket Pro 800!

HOW TO MAKE DARTS AND DARTBOARD WITH CARDBOARD

DARTS- INTRODUCTION

Darts is a well-known sport in which little objects which are missile-like, are hurled at a board popularly known as dartboard which is circular in shape, with the dartboard being fixed to a wall. It is a standardized game which involves an exact and precise design with a set of rules.
Taking a look at the history of darts, they were originally used in warfare, they are of varying sizes and can be likened to smaller javelins. The practice of this skill gave rise to the game of the skill.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR MAKING DARTS AND DARTBOARD

HOW TO MAKE DARTS AND DARTBOARD WITH CARDBOARD

Darts is a game which presents fun to whoever plays it and there are best darts on the market. To make darts and dartboard, you would need the following:
1. Rope
2. Glue (Tacky)
3. Paper straws
4. One large cardboard
5. Pencil
6. Marker
7. Felt in different colours (Red, pink, purple, blue and orange)
8. Scissors
9. Styrofoam balls
10. Velcro dots (Adhesive)
11. Sparkly tape
Making darts and dartboard requires you to be meticulous based on the fact that you would be working with measurements, and any slight mistake could be an obvious defect when the final result is ready.

STEPS TO MAKING A DARTBOARD

HOW TO MAKE DARTS AND DARTBOARD WITH CARDBOARD

First and foremost, the felt which you would be using should be in the measurement 18 by 18-inch piece for the base, and for other colours, 9 by 12 inch sheets). So for the base, fold the coloured felt into half, and cut out a piece in the shape of a large heart.
For the rest of the felt colours, the first procedure should be repeated, with the first large heart being used as a guideline. Ensure that an approximately an inch is left between the colours, in order to provide much space for the darts to land.
Next, with the use of a marker, outline numbers 1- 4 on anther felt from the middle heart. From the second smallest heart, make use of the leftover to create a 5th one for the middle heart. For cutting out the numbers, small sized scissors would work well.
Smear the tacky glue on the edge of each of the already cut heart and fix them in successive layers. Also, use the tacky glue, and apply them to the numbers enabling them to be attached to the top edge positioned at the left of the layer of each heart, this should be done in an ascending order starting with 1 on the heart positioned on the external, down to 5 which is in the centre.
The next step would be to use a pencil to trace the heart on a piece of cardboard. Once this tracing has been perfectly done, use a scissors to cut it out. Then, fix the felt to the cardboard with the glue.
Cut some metres of the rope and fix it to the back of the cardboard alongside with a tape. At the completion of this, your best dartboard is ready for use.

STEPS TO MAKING DARTS

HOW TO MAKE DARTS AND DARTBOARD WITH CARDBOARD

Making darts is not as strenuous as making a dartboard, so it should not take much time as making a dartboard would.
The first step is to use a 2-inch tape and cover the end of the straw. The tape should be folded in half, and used to cover the top.
Next step would be to cut the tape into a “V” angled shape, then make small cuttings in form of slits on each side, to form a feather. Clip each straw until they are about 5-inches long. For the arrow tip, fix the straw into the middle of a Styrofoam ball, and bond with a tacky glue.
To complete your dart, get five scratchy halves of Velcro (circular), and stick them round the Styrofoam ball, this would help to increase the chances of hitting the target.

CONCLUSION

Asides the fact that playing darts has benefits in form of fun, there are other benefits which people are not aware of.
Playing darts helps to relieve stress, it takes your mind off work due to the fact that it is a leisure activity. It enhances your eye and hand coordination and concentration.
The game also helps in improving social skills, as you would meet with other people who have interests in the game, with this you would be expanding your network both socially and professionally.

{DIY} :: elegant Halloween mantel

October 19, 2012 by Jaclyn Leave a Comment

No tricks here – this mantle is all treats!  For those who personally know me, you know Halloween is my favorite. (Though when Christmas comes you might call me a liar.)

Decoratively speaking, I love all the possibilities in color combinations and tone that Halloween offers. You can have a sweet and soft scheme with muted candy corn colors, go sassy with witchy blacks and deep oranges, or totally kiddish with bright greens and purples. Your house can transform into a haunted haven or look sweet as candy with the right combination and it’s so fun to play around!

Though elegant isn’t usually a word that comes to mind for Halloween, I wanted to try for a pretty and feminine feel on the mantlescape this year. Black and white is such a classic combination that I don’t usually get to work with, and I love how the elements came together for a fresh take on this traditionally spooky holiday.

Tips & Tricks Treats to achieve this look:

  • Cut craft pumpkins in half (saves you money and space!) and adorn with jewels, ribbon, and jewelry. Check out the large pumpkin on the right – it’s wearing a necklace!
  • Fill glass apothecary jars with black and white notions – feathers, black eyed peas, glittered picks – and place battery operated flameless candles inside.
  • Use candles with a timer or remote so you won’t have to  dismantle your jars to turn them on.
  • Place black ravens about with each “looking” at something specific to add mystery and life to your scheme.
  • String a paper pinwheel garland along the bottom to set your tone and anchor your scheme.
  • Most importantly, do what makes YOU happy – after all, you’re the one who will be enjoying it!
Let’s journey:

(By the way… YES! Those are fishnet stockings around the tallest apothecary jar. I just slid one leg over the top and wrapped the rest around the base. Also, I used mason jar rings to hold the pumpkin halves in place. Never underestimate the versatility of unexpected items!)
Witching you a spooktacular Halloween!
happy peckled decorating y’all,

{DIY} :: cardboard box town

September 6, 2012 by Jaclyn Leave a Comment

Howdy partner! Welcome to Box Town. We ain’t seen you ’round these parts before, how ’bout you sit for a spell in the Silly Saloon and have you nice glass of sweet tea while we show you a lil’ history ’bout our town…

Gathering large boxes will be easier than you think – simply give your local hardware & appliance store a call. When I told them I needed fridge, washer, and dryer boxes for an upcoming family reunion they were certainly curious. When I further explained that it was for a children’s “box town” they were highly amused and said they’d be happy to gather them for me!
You may want to reverse the boxes (as shown below) to have a clean surface to paint and adorn. Simply cut through one corner and flip the box around. Secure the edge with STRAPPING TAPE – you’ll find it in the shipping section of your local office supply store; it’s the one with lines – trust me, duct tape, shipping tape, any other tape you can think of will NOT do the trick as nicely as strapping tape.
Beware, your little ones may protest you cutting the box in fear of you ruining it forever…
The box town was certainly a hit – as were the cowboy and cowgirl cutouts hand painted by my Aunt Jane. Aren’t they awesome?! We all took turns (children and adults!) getting our pictures taken. The little ones especially loved opening and closing all the doors. Use  old drawer hardware for a perfect doorknob for little hands! Be sure to cut fun windows and lookouts too.
There’s no photo (oops) but all the boxes were secured together with strapping tape and a crawl through hole was cut through the inside of the town. The kids could enter the side door of the jail and crawl through the inside of the town all the way to the other side. The little ones seemed to love that aspect and it was easy enough to do.
I can’t wait to show you the rest of our Wild Western Family Reunion! Details should be coming soon. Until then…
So glad you stopped on by – y’all come back now, ya hear?
peckled love folks,
